I absolutely love this photo. For more, click here.
I'm off to hear The Gourds play at the pavilion tonight-- have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo

How do we feel about canopy beds? I'm debating this one for $299 from Ikea. Here are a few phone pics taken in the DC store:
I think it's kinda fun, in a Gone with the Wind sort of way. My bedroom walls are grey, so this fake room actually looks a lot like mine (minus the kid, of course). I'd keep it clean and simple with white bedding like this:
Or put a cool panel of fabric across the top:
Yes? No?
After a false start booking tickets on Orbitz (returning flight NOT on the correct day+ solid hour on the phone with customer service + penalty fees for being a moron = awesome), I'm rebooked and set to fly to Austin next weekend for my old DC roommate's wedding. Yee haw.
Hoping to also see a few college friends while I'm in town too. One is a landscape and portrait artist/ graphic designer... here are a few of her pieces:
Also... totally love her Save the Date postcard.
Congratulations, Kate. I wish I could jump through your pics on the Face from last weekend... amazing.
Also, congratulations to my parents, who celebrated 35 years of marriage on Monday.
La vita è bella!
Thank you Mr. B for a wonderful dinner at the Clifton Inn. Martinis, wine, steak, lamb, buffalo, lobster, chocolate, cheese plates x10 = yeah, I'm in a full food coma.
Our VIP treatment, food, service and most of all, company, was fabulous. Time to unzip my pants... and set my alarm for the gym in the AM.
More posting tomorrow. Right now, it's sleepy time. xo
À la cute C-ville jewelry designer Erin McDermott. I love the organic feel to her pieces. Cute with white tank + jeans. And of course, a solid tan.

I've been trying to come up with new ways to cope with turning 30 next month. I particularly like this concept. Hello new desktop image.
Can you tell the difference?

You may not, but your bank account certainly can.

Thanks SCM for a great dinner at Vineside. Oatmeal ice cream sandwiches = yum.
CP, I'm coming for you next time we play Scattergories. You heard me Miss Faux Hawk, it's on like Donkey Kong.
I still have a huge place in my heart for the Carrie-inspired oversized flower pins.
J. Crew has been reviving the Carrie flower by repeatedly using these XL pins in their recent online and print campaigns. Likey.
Want one? I do.

Green light on wearing white. Love this shirtdress from the Gap for summer. Plus it's already on sale-- even better.
Have a great holiday weekend!
I think this might be one of the best songs ever written... of course, in addition to this one:
and this one too:
My mom is a fabric/ textile fanatic, and I share her love of this global-inspired Peter Dunham print... on just about anything. Just like my mom, I also love a good map.
This print also makes me think about this song. I wonder if Paul Simon truly realizes that he arguably (or really, not at all) created the best album of all time.
My friends know I'm a cheese fanatic (read: I'll eat almost anything with cheese in the title) and I'd like to have a moment of silence for the best freaking cottage cheese in the entire world.

Ok.
I buy a minimum of four containers of this stuff at a time at the Whole Paycheck. I usually think fat free/ 1% dairy products taste totally nast (except milk), but the 1% Friendship is really really good. Like really good. Like I just ate half a tub for lunch.
I have been looking for a flattering pair of Levi's for ages and at last, my search is over. I just bought this pair of 421 Levi's Skinny jeans from Urban last weekend and have worn them almost everyday this week (currently in the laundry, thank you). I went for the classic blue wash (this pic makes the wash look really distressed-- it's not) and the fit is perfect. If you think you can't wear skinny jeans think again. My apple bottom is all up in there and for $29.99, it's worth a try.
