Over the years I've learned to embrace my "big" hair, but in the summer, it can go from 0 to fro in less than 2.5 seconds. I mean, the flat iron can only fight the curl for so long. Without the right product, it's a losing battle.
If you too engage in hand to hand combat with your hair every morning, invest in a bottle of Moroccan Oil immediately. Nothing, I mean NOTHING, works as well as a small handful of this stuff. Nothing.
Go. Buy. Now.
To help me take my mind off the fact that this is the last week of my 20s, my sister has apparently decided to distract me with a little, unexpected present each day. It's working.
It's probably 90% motivated by love (and concern) and 10% motivated by self-preservation, as we live together. Ha!
Day 7 - new Chanel Vendetta nail polish. It's a pretty wicked shade of deep purple. A nice change from black, vamp and dark brown.

Day 6 - 200lbs of food donated to Feed America in my name. Perfectly timed I might add.
And yes, that makes today Day 5.

After stepping on the scale last night and realizing I had lost 10 pounds in week, I've decided to pull the plug and return to the land of the eating... a few days early. I know, I know, some of it's water weight. However, I'm hoping that a few months of online WW will help maintain my small weight loss victory. Might also have to explore one of these slim down options too.
I feel great, have tons of energy and have certainly kicked off (what I hope) will be a few healthier eating habits. I've had 15 pounds following me since college, and as a 30th b-day prez to myself, I've decided it's time to kiss it goodbye once and for all.
Less than a week and counting. Eek!

Keep in mind this comes from someone whose closet is 90% Crew. Maybe 95%. I loved the winter, I loved the spring, I really loved last summer (remember the awesome Moroccan pics?). I don't know, maybe it's me, but this summer I'm not totally feelin' it. Yet...

It's the beginning of Day 4 of the cleanse and I'm still here. It actually hasn't been quite as bad as I had thought (read: haven't completely gone insane yet), but I can tell you this-- it's all mental. And for someone with poor impulse control, well, that's been the hardest challenge.

I swear, my sister asks me every morning what the weather is going to be-- usually while I'm ankle deep in my closet trying to figure out some new, amazingly stylish outfit (ha) from the same rack of clothes-- and not retreat in total defeat back to under the covers.
Enter Feather, the booming voice you wish you had every morning telling you what to put on-- and to tell you if you should pack an umbrella. And then tell your sister. I might not live in New York, but I'd rather read her site than watch The Weather Channel.
Also, def want that AKA New York tank on the bottom left.

That's right friends. I'm about to hit the Ctrl+Alt+Del on the old system for the next 10 days. I'd be lying to you if I told you this wasn't just a little bit motivated by dropping a few lbs. before my friend's designer sale next weekend. I mean, Gucci don't look good on a pooch. And a pooch don't look good in a bikini!
However, I've been eating c-r-a-p for the last couple weeks and am looking forward to feeling fresh and clean.
I'll spare you the gruesome details (ha!), but will keep you posted on the results... outside the bathroom.

I guess it's easy to be effortlessly chic when you're hanging out on a yacht in Venice.
After an epic failure to launch to Texas (read: three cancelled orbitz tickets, two missed flights, one ticket booked for the wrong weekend, and a pile of airline credits for future attempts), this weekend wasn't a total loss.
The silver lining? The ultimate blogette celeb sighting: Joanna Goddard of a Cup of Jo fame.

I randomly spotted her as I was walking to get a drink with friends on the Charlottesville downtown mall Saturday afternoon. I recognized her as soon as we passed and immediately turned and ran her down to say hello... in a completely shameless starstruck way.
However, despite my stalker-ish behavior, she (and her sis and fiancé) were lovely and gracious-- just as you'd expect.
