So excited it's Friday... so excited about my next guest blogger on this series. It's a little ironic, as the "stowed cold weather gods" Courtney mentions in her post have definitely taken up residence in C-ville. It's 35 outside. They're calling for snow tomorrow. May cry.
But back to Courtney. I love her blog, her style and am more than slightly obsessed with her exotic, international lifestyle. She just took a trip with her girlfriends to Thailand for the weekend. Dreamy.
I'd like to take a girlfriend trip to visit her shoe closet.
Read on.

Undoubtedly, fall is my favorite time of year. A chance to breathe new life into your garments with the addition of scarves, tights and lightweight jackets; the buzz of upcoming holiday events; and that unexplainable feeling that fills the air. Living in Malaysia fall is pretty much a myth. But just because those cold weather goods remain stowed, I can still incorporate the feeling of fall fashion into my everyday wardrobe. So for those who are also stuck in a perpetual heatwave, here are 5 essentials to cheat summer:
A skirt that perfectly marries bright lights with a moody print is my top pick for this transitional season.
If 4 years in Texas taught me anything it's that you can always sport a cowboy boot. It's a closet staple that regardless of fads, is perfect for just about any occasion. I love them with the quintessential jeans and t-shirt as well as jazzed up dresses. No one makes a better boot than Frye, and how many shoes actually look better with age?
A nice brawny leather belt would certainly beef up my summer dresses and make them feel more autumnal. Loving this two-piece braided harness from Death & Texas.
Coral pairs beautifully with brown, black, navy and other somber hues typically associated with fall; I love the unexpected hint of warmth in a sea of darks. And the idea of using a color-saturated lipstick to achieve this pop is unexpected.
Though I won't be traveling home for the holidays, I still plan on attending a few soirées here in Kuala Lumpur. I'm always on the lookout for dressier pieces like this Karen Nicol frock that I can wear as is for summer months or add tights and my favorite driving gloves for cooler temps.
