I love Facebook for this specific reason.  

I don't get Southern Living Magazine.  I also don't keep in (direct) touch with this stylish chick from college.  We were a year apart, in the same sorority, and ran around with a similar crowd.  But after graduation, I'm not sure I've seen or spoken to her since.  

However, thanks to the magic of the Face, I know she's married to a cute looking guy, has taken some awesome trips, apparently now has an adorable baby and just had her guest bedroom makeover featured in Southern Living.  

Creepy?  A little.  Cool?  Very.

I love Kate Hudson.  I know she drives some people nuts, but I really like her style.  She can wear a ratty tee and jeans just as well as an evening gown.  She also looks like she's always having fun.

That is not an easy dress to wear on stage or anywhere for that matter.  Her wig also looks pretty awesome. The bangs are perfect.

Can we also discuss JLo's performance?  More specifically, how absolutely horrible it was?  It was almost painful to watch.  We all make mistakes, but this reminded me of the infamous Britney disaster from the VMA's, minus the gut.  And I like to think Jenny from the block is a beautiful, more talented, more intelligent person.  Did you watch it?

Even though the warehouse sale is over, the two overstock stores are open 7 days a week from 10am-8pm.   I'm definitely going back in early January when both stores will be full of holiday returns...

The J.Crew 2009 Holiday in Chile catalogue arrived in the mail today.   I'm currently drawing my battle plan for the weekend, and these are all potential targets. 

I'm also trying to be somewhat practical.  Trying.  I mean, glitter heels are everyday, right?

Anyone who’s ever seen me knows that 90% of my clothes come from this store in Lynchburg.  Maybe 95%.  In fact, I’m wearing head-to-toe J.Crew Clearance store right now.  I probably will be tomorrow too.

This is guaranteed to be a madhouse, but if you’re looking for something to do this weekend, I recommend suiting up and charging in…

I always find great deals on shoes, sweaters and coats.  Even if you can’t handle the mob, you can always shop the other two regular clearance stores, which I’m sure will be FULL of current items.

Also, if you’re in the market for kid’s clothes, I’m sure there will be tons of Crewcuts for CHEAP.

Reload the E-Z Pass

Off to New York for a long weekend with my Cville girlfriends.   We very purposefully only have a few definite stops on the agenda (one in particular),  so we can let the Big Apple take us where she wants us to go.   This could be trouble.

Why is it that I always end up watching the Bigger Loser on the same night I skip the gym and order a ridiculous amount of take-out for dinner?  This always happens to me.  Always!  Why??

I really need some gym motivation and this Theory dress may actually motivate me to get my ass to the gym tomorrow morning.   This hot number has holiday party/ New Year's/ stop eating nachos written all over it.

The whole DIY-Anthropolgie-Style-Me-Pretty-vintage-inspired reception is certainly the wedding trend du jour, however, it sometimes looks and feels a tad over-contrived for my taste.

In this case, it's the over-the-top trendiness that really caught my eye... and didn't make me wince. It looks like these people invited their closest friends, scooped up everything in their apartment for the tabletop (notice the burned down Diptique candle) and had a really fun party. Not necessarily what I would choose, but I like it.

How freaking good does that look? Sunday dinner is such a good time to go full-on grease. It makes me feel better about Monday.

Guess where I bought these earrings? I needed something big and glitzy to wear to this party on Saturday and found this faux-Prada pair for a reasonable $38.00.
