Uh oh

Sorry for the lack of posts this week-- I got a mildly traumatic haircut on Wednesday.  I walked in wanting just a couple inches and walked out with a chin length do.   I drank an entire bottle of wine last night... and possibly the night before.   I don't think I've had hair this short since middle school.

Have any of you had to go back to your hairdresser to fix a bad cut?   How did you handle it?

Cheap & Chic & CHEAP

With the trip coming up next Thursday, I decided to check out Old Navy to see if they had any Middle East worthy, cotton, easy-to-travel, cheap dresses.   If, say, I need to make room for multiple rugs, textiles and a mound of jewelry in my suitcase,  I won't have a problem parting with one or two of these in Oman.

All are under $20.00.

These shirt dresses are perfect and are desperately calling for awesome jewelry and sandals.  And a scarf.   And a camel.

This striped dress is only $10.00.  Perfect with a trench coat and flats for spring.

Dust Sucks

Currently engaged in hand to hand combat with the dust, laundry and general mess in my room and apartment.   Let's not even talk about the mountain of mail I need to go through next.   Ick x 1000.

I have the Mos Def/ K'naan episode of Austin City Limits on full blast-- I'm sure my neighbors are looovvvving it.

Blue eyeliner:  it's not just for 80's tacky prom party anymore.  I love this take on the smoky eye... gorgeous and so fresh.

I'll probably end up looking more like an extra on My Name is Earl, but I may have to attempt this anyway.

Lucky Tony

I ate half a block of cheese (for the record, my sister did help... a little) while watching Anthony Bourdain eat his way across Istanbul on No Reservations tonight.   Well, it really came on last night, but I was out of town.   I heart DVR.

I also heart his show.  He may have the best job in the world.  Correction... he has the best job in the world.

It's Official

I'm going to Dubai and Oman next month.   I am so excited I can hardly stand it.  Have any of you ever been before?  I'm dying to ride a camel.   And drive along the coast.  And through the desert.  And stick my toe in the Persian Gulf.  (What WHAT!)  And explore a country I admittedly know little about, but by all accounts is beautiful, welcoming and totally intriguing.  Oh yeah, and get a tan.

Yes!  Ahhh!

I'm officially obsessed with the new computer.   I skipped the gym to play with it.   And now I'm shopping online and drinking wine.  Irresponsibility is always a slippery slope... and a fun one.

Brian Reyes, Shopbop, $562.50.  Yeah, I know.  It's over budget for me too.  But how flattering?  And you could wear this for a looonnnnng time.

How nice does this look?  I am so officially sick of cold weather.  To that end, I've almost finalized a trip to Dubai and Oman next month.  Has anyone ever been to either place?

My new friend

Yes friends, that's me.  I don't usually post photos of myself, but Sunday was a special occasion, especially for Pink Monkey.  I just unwrapped it last night and this is my first official post with my shiny, new friend.  I think I'm in love.  Actually, I'm obsessed.

Next on the list?  A haircut.  Big time.

New Years Resolutions/ The Situation

What do I need to give up in 2010 in order to justify keeping this?   Diet coke?  Coffee?  I can't give up coffee, so maybe DC?  Ouch.  At least until the season is over.  

I mean, please tell me I'm not alone here.   I just saw on FB that a friend has hired Snooki to attend a rando Valentine's bar party he's throwing with friends.  Hilarious/amazing.
