Fall Picks Part 2 - Walk This Way
(All images via)
My second post on fall trends is dedicated to is one of my absolute favorite blogs, Jak + Jil. I routinely lose myself in the photos of the outrageous, over-the-top, insanely glamorous footwear featured on the site. None of these shoes are what most people would consider "sensible," "practical" or "comfortable" ... but that's exactly why I totally love it.
Part of getting dressed should always be about playing dress up. I think it's always most important to play yourself, but what you put on your feet can really take you to new, exciting places. And make you feel amazing (even if your toes beg to differ).
A few ideas...

Although there is no substitute for high-quality shoes, I'm all for smart shopping these days. I'm willing to invest in the pairs that will really go the distance (classic black pumps, beautiful leather boots, etc), but you don't have to break the bank to have some fun. All of these shoes are reasonably priced from discount designers/websites and would certainly make your trendy, impractical inner-glamazon very happy.
If you've got the benjamins for the big guns, go for it. If you're on a budget, maybe go for one of these pairs instead. Either way, go for it.
ps. The navy platforms remind me of this look.

Stars are just like us

My college roommate is on Jak and Jil Blog! So awesome! This is totally a gold star on the blog walk of fame!
Reading Jak + Jil always reminds me of three things I need to do:
1) Buy a new camera
2) Allocate more dollar bills to the shoe fund/ find a huge pot of gold
3) Get a pedicure

Morning Commute

Damn. I wish I could whip that dress out of my closet at any given moment. I know she's at fashion week, but I like to think she's actually running down to CVS for a roll of paper towels and an US Weekly. Because that would be my life. Ha!
